Spanish tennis star
Paula Badosa has revealed that she is
looking to return to action in the
Australian Open next year.
The 25-year-old has missed a lot of on-court action this
year after suffering a stress fracture ahead of the French Open.
That injury returned during her Wimbledon 2023 clash as she
had to retire from the second-round clash.
Badosa was quoted in a report recently where she stated that she
is eying a return to the court in the Australian Open and also stated that she
has to act very carefully because spinal injury is a sensitive method.
"Things are not good at the moment,” she said. “You
need time to heal from a stress fracture and the process is long. I hope to be
ready in January. Now I must not move because it is the spine and it is a
sensitive point. I hope to be in Australia in January and to play mixed doubles
with Stefanos.”
That injury also ruled Badosa out of the ongoing US Open
meaning that she missed three out of four Grand Slams.
The New York-born
will be hoping that the ongoing break will help return to her very best form
whenever she takes the court.
