The Prize Money Breakdown has been confirmed ahead of the Billie Jean King Cup Finals which will take place in Malaga between November 13-20 prior to the Davis Cup Finals.
They have shown their commitment towards gender equality by giving equal prize money between both the Davis Cup Finals, also ran by the ITF and also takes place in Malaga the week after so in reality both will play for similar riches.
A total of $9,600,000 is available with the winning country set for a windfall of $2,400,000 which is then distributed among the players involved. "The ITF Advantage All program aims to promote gender equality, and we are pleased to offer equivalent prize money in both the Billie Jean King Cup Finals and the Davis Cup Finals for the third consecutive year," said ITF President David Haggerty.
Last year was a slight shock with the 60th edition seeing Canada defeating Italy 2-0. It was their first final and title at the Billie Jean King Cup Final. They will look to defend again this time but without Bianca Andreescu who has withdrawn. Leylah Fernandez leads them into battle again.
The ties will be contested in a best of three rubbers format and will be played on one day. There will be two singles followed by a doubles, the finals feature 12 teams competing in a knockout format which replaced the group stage.
Iga Swiatek will anchor Poland hopes with Karolina Muchova for Czech Republic, Jasmine Paolini for Italy, Paula Badosa for Spain and finally Danielle Collins for USA also among the headline names. Emma Raducanu also makes her return to action this next week with Katie Boulter leading Great Britain's side against Germany.
