2024 Indian Wells will play between March 3 - 17, 2024 and will mark the first reunion of top ATP and WTA tennis players since the Australian Open in unified event. Often referred to as the 'fifth major,' this California tournament promises significant comebacks that fans worldwide can follow through television broadcasts.

ATP's Star-Studded Main Draw

After more than a year, both Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal will headline the men's draw, stealing the spotlight. 'Nole' hasn't played in Indian Wells since 2019, while Nadal skipped last year due to injury, with his last participation in 2022, falling to Taylor Fritz in the final. The Spaniard has since withdrawn.
With Djokovic as the top seed, his primary challengers include the 4th seed Jannik Sinner, the standout performer since late 2023, boasting 32 wins in his last 34 matches. Sinner secured his first Grand Slam at the Aussie Open and clinched the title at the Rotterdam Open just two weeks ago.
Joining the mix are Carlos Alcaraz (second seed), the defending champion, and Daniil Medvedev (3rd seed). Despite recent fluctuations in form, both players tend to bring out their best in major events.

WTA's Top Contenders

Iga Swiatek, with 20 victories in her last 22 official matches, remains a favourite. Although facing a surprising defeat in the third round of the Aussie Open against the young Linda Noskova and a setback in Dubai against Anna Kalinskaya, the world No. 1 has widened her lead in the WTA Ranking. Her displacement from the top during the 'Sunshine Double' seems virtually impossible.
Recent Aussie Open champion Aryna Sabalenka stands out as the main contender. However, strong performances from local talents Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula cannot be overlooked, along with the defending champion Elena Rybakina. Potential surprises may come from Qinwen Zheng (7th), Dayana Yastremska (30th), and Linda Noskova (28th), all enjoying an impressive run in 2024.
