Ukrainian tennis star Marta Kostyuk gets married to boyfriend Heorhii in Cyprus

Ukrainian tennis star, Marta Kostyuk has began her off season by getting married. She exchanged vows with her fiancé known as Heorhii in a private ceremony in Cyprus on Wednesday.

The couple announced their engagement earlier this year in April and after last playing in the China Open, Kostyuk has wasted no time in having the wedding when the tennis season has ended.

A private affair with only close friends and family attending, Kostyuk who suddenly announced the engagement earlier this year despite being fairly private showed glimpses of her special day.

The couple had matching Tiffany wedding rings and drove away in a vintage car. Heartwarmingly, they also walked down the aisle together and showed pitches of them tying the knot.

It is a bright spark for Kostyuk, who as well as having to battle on the court has had the war back home as a feature of her past 18 months as her tennis rise has continued in earnest. The 21-year-old has been fairly open in her views about bans for Russian players as well as the issues surrounding the handshake and lack thereof at the French Open with Aryna Sabalenka.

But will now look forward at least in the short term to start her time away from tennis with her new husband and happiness amid all the turmoil still ongoing. Congratulations to the newlyweds.
