Venus Williams is set to make her return to tennis at the Libema Open in Den Bosch, her first event since the start of the year and the Australian summer.
Williams hasn't played since earlier this year when she played two matches in Australia. It wasn't at the Australian Open but before that at a different event. She won one match but lost the other where she suffered an injury that prevented her from playing at the Australian Open. Returning on clay was never really a serious option but she did opt to return on grass taking a wild card entry for Den Bosch.
The American is excited about returning once more and having a chance to play because there won't be too many chances anymore. She effectively hinted that she's retired from doubles tennis so singles tennis is all that she has now but it's unlikely she will be playing for a long time before another injury strikes.
