Venus Williams will make a return to tennis on grass in a few weeks but she won't be making a return to doubles tennis as she's retired from that part of the sport.

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the return of Venus Williams to tennis. The American veteran was there in Australia playing however she didn't play long due to getting injured. She hasn't played since then but plans to make a comeback on the grass in a few weeks. That's good news for all her fans but unfortunately, she won't be playing doubles anymore.

She recently said that she retired from doubles when her sister Serena Williams retired from tennis last year. They played together at the US Open and that was the last that we'll see from Venus in the doubles:

“When Serena retired I retired from doubles as well. When you have Serena Williams as a partner you have seen the glory at the mountaintop, you can't go any higher! Sorry I don't have better news.”
