Anna Kalinskaya got injured pretty early in her match against Elena Rybakina at the Rome Open which forced her to retire from the match down 3-4.
Kalinskaya has been playing some of the best tennis she played in the last couple of seasons however this injury will likely keep her away from the sport for a while. The footage of the injury doesn't show any twists and turns and doesn't look too bad on the initial watch however she was unable to continue the match opting to retire.
It's unclear what went wrong though splits can always be dangerous to the amount of pressure put on certain parts of the lower body. Fans are hoping the injury is not serious and that Kalinskaya will be back soon.
