Andy Murray has always been an outspoken feminist and his efforts have been praised by
Ashleigh Barty in Western & Southern Open's compliments.
The Western & Southern Open has been a running compliments segment where ATP and WTA players compliment each other on things they like or things they did. In the latest one Andy Murray and Ashleigh Barty exchange compliments. Murray was up first and speaking about Barty he said:
"I just love Barty play tennis. She's got loads of variety. She's just got a very exciting brand of tennis. I think she is a really nice person, which matters, even though she turned me down for mixed doubles at Wimbledon. She is a very worthy world number one."
It was very high praise from Murray who has always been an outspoken supporter of the rights and goals of WTA players. For Murray, it was always something natural and he never understood why more players did the same. That was the main praise Ashleigh Barty gave Murray.
She said:
"He is a incredible champion. I think the adversity that he's gone throughout his career. The way he's fought for us as WTA players. His mum has raised an incredible man so I hope he can hold on, be healthy and win a few more big matches."
