Victoria Azarenka saw off Ekaterina Alexandrova yesterday and had Linda Fruhvirtova in her sights but it was the 16-year-old Czech prodigy who booked her place in the Last 16 of the
Miami Open.
But her breakthrough week only continued after Azarenka abruptly quit the match and walked off court similar to Amanda Anisimova in Indian Wells albeit with only a few games left as opposed to a set.
After the opener went the way of Fruhvirtova, she went 3-0 up and the World No.16 shouted towards her box 'why am I here?' and she wasn't there that much longer.
Asking for a MTO and the trainer, she was told to wait but made her mind up and decided to retire shaking the umpire's hand with Fruhvirtova sitting waiting to play on before it was announced that it wasn't going to be the case.
