Leylah Fernandez may have lost the all-teenage
US Open final to Emma Raducanu but fans were given a potential glimpse at a match which could be a feature of the future of Women's tennis.
Fernandez produced a brilliant run from start to finish at Flushing Meadows to continue her breakout and after losing to the British qualifier was understandably upset.
Giving a tearful interview, she thanked her family before sending a message of support to those affected by the 9/11 terror attacks on the 20th anniversary.
“I hope I can be as strong and resilient as New York has been the past 20 years," she said.
