"Ladies and gentlemen... if you are opening a bottle of champagne, don't do it as the players are about to serve" 🍾 The most #Wimbledon warning ever from umpire John Blom 🤣
Well known for the Strawberries and Cream, the Pimms and the all-white outfits, Wimbledon is a British tradition like no other and that was on full display during the Mirra Andreeva - Anastasia Potapova match.
On the second point of the contest, Potapova was serving and the umpire had to interject while she was going through her service motion.
But not aimed towards Potapova but the crowd as fans were warned about opening champagne before players serve.
An occasion worth celebrating it seems. "Ladies and gentlemen... if you are opening a bottle of champagne, don't do it as the players are about to serve," said the umpire which just drew a wry smile from Potapova.
