Czech Republic’s tennis star
Karolina Muchova ha released a
video of her rehab as she is edging closer to returning to full fitness. The 27-year-old spent
10 months on the sidelines after suffering a serious wrist injury.
Muchova is now edging closer to returning to full action. While announcing that she will take part in events leading up to Wimbledon 2024, she released a video showing how much she struggled to recover
from the injury.
The third Grand Slam of the year will begin on July 01 where players from all over the world will participate to showcase their talent and secure the ultimate prize. In a recent interview, Muchova also stated that she is preparing
for the Olympics, which is set to be organised in the capital city of France from July 26 to August 11, as well.
"At the end of this week, I'll fly to Eastbourne
with the team where we'll finally try to play some matches in preparation ahead
of Wimbledon," she said. "After Wimbledon I'll return back to the
clay, maybe play a tournament, or straight to the Olympics. I'm really excited
for the Olympics. I've never been to one, and it's around the corner in Paris,
so I can't be more excited."
If Muchova stays fit to take part at Wimbledon, it will be interesting
to see how she will perform as she has not played in any Grand Slam in the last
18 months. Her last appearance in a major event came in the US Open in 2022
where she came second best while facing America’s Coco Gauff in the semifinal in
straight sets with a score of 6-4, 7-5.
In 2022, just before getting injured, Muchova produced
arguably the best performance of her career as she played in the final of the
French Open. However, that outing was not a successful one as she lost in straight sets to the current world number one, Iga Swiatek, with a score of 6–2, 5–7, 6–4.
