Czech Republic’s tennis player
Barbora Krejcikova becomes
the latest player to be ruled out of the
Indian Wells competition.
The mega-event is set to be played from March 06-17 where
players from all over the world will showcase their talent and fight to get the
ultimate prize.
As per the latest report, Krejcikova becomes the latest high-profile
player who has been ruled out of the competition. Earlier, another Czech player
Karolina Muchova was also ruled out of the competition because of a fitness
concern.
Krejcikova had a more than decent beginning to her 2024 campaign
where she was eventually knocked out of the Australian Open after losing in the
quarterfinal to the current world number two Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka with a
score of 6-2, 6-3.
After that, she was once again knocked out from the Abu
Dhabi Open after losing in the quarterfinal to Liudmila Samsonova with a score
of 7-5, 6-4. The 28-year-old, however, withdrew from the Qatar Open because of
an injury as well.
Krejcikova had a great time while playing at the Indiana
Wells last year where she won in the doubles category with Katerina Siniakova.
The duo defeated the pair of Beatriz Haddad Maia and Laura Siegemund in the final
with a score of 6-1, 6-7, 10-7.
