Video of 11-year-old Coco Gauff dancing at US Open goes viral as rise comes full circle

America’s young tennis sensation Coco Gauff’s old video went
viral after her recent triumph at the US Open 2023.
The 19-year-old won her first Grand Slam in New York on
Saturday after defeating the newly-crowned world number one Aryna Sabalenka in
the final with a score of 2-6, 6-3, 6-2.
After that victory, Gauff’s 11-year-old video went viral
where she could be seen dancing in the stands during the US Open.
Gauff’s triumph at the Flashing Medows was a continuation of
her impressive run in the recent past where she also won the Cincinnati Open
(Western & Southern Open).
The Atlanta-born defeated Germany’s Laura Siegemund in the
tournament opener with a score of 3-6, 6-2, 6-4.
She then got the better of the young Russian tennis star Mirra
Andreeva in the round of 64 in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-2. In the
third round, Gauff defeated Belgium’s Elise Mertens with a score of 3-6, 6-3,
6-0.
In the round of 16, the world number three defeated the
former world number one Denmark’s Caroline Wozniacki with a score of 6-3, 3-6,
6-1.
Quarterfinal and semifinal proved easy encounters for
the 19-year-old who defeated Latvia’s Jelena Ostapenko (6-0, 6-2) and Karolina Muchova
(6-4, 7-5) in straight sets.

- The main difference for bigger names like Alcaraz, Sinner, Zverez, etc. is that they usually make it to the later stages of tournaments while 99% of the other players win a round or two and then move on to the next tournament.
