(VIDEO) Pantomime villain Danielle Collins receives serenade of boos on Australian Open return

Danielle Collins has returned to the court at the 2025 Australian Open as expected to a chorus of boos after her previous round which saw her draw the ire of the crowd against Destanee Aiava.
From telling fans to kiss her behind, to blowing kisses at them and cupping her ear, Collins certainly played up to the role of villain against Aiava and afterwards said that those booing her don't realise that they are paying her bills.
Collins is a polarising figure as expected due to her character with some relishing the box office nature of 'Danimal' and others see her in a negative light. But Novak Djokovic for instance chimed in that he was a big fan of what the American did after his win yesterday.
She walked onto court likely expecting the reaction with it almost being like a pantomime with fans doing it just because as Collins maintained a stoic look at the crowd. She faces off against Madison Keys who likely in this all American battle will be the darling of the piece for the crowd in attendance.
Danielle Collins was immediately booed when she stepped on Rod Laver Arena to play her match at the Australian Open.
