Spain’s tennis star
Paula Badosa has started practicing ahead
of the
Billie Jean King Cup Finals.
The 25-year-old is currently spending time on the sidelines as
she continues her recovery from a back injury.
In a video that appeared on social media platform X — previously
known as Twitter — Badosa can be seen training on the court without having a back
brace.
The news will be a great one for her fans who have been
waiting for a long time to see her return to action.
It was because of her back injury, Badosa did not feature in
three out of four Grand Slams in 2023.
Her only appearance in a mega-event this year was at
Wimbledon where she was forced to retire in the second round.
The Manhattan-born will be hoping that the forced rest in
the recent past will improve her record at the highest level in big events.
Despite playing in the main round of the Grand Slams 15 times
in her career, Badosa has only managed to play once in the quarterfinal or
beyond any big competition.
It was back in 2021
when she played in the quarterfinal of the French Open and lost to Slovenia’s Tamara
Zidansek with a score of 7-5, 4-6, 8-6.
