Although the
WTA Finals is one of the most prestigious titles on the WTA circuit, there seems to be a problem with the training facilities, according to
Aryna Sabalenka.
The World No.1 will be competing at the year-ending event, which runs from October 29-November 5, 2023. With all eight participants confirmed, the athletes have arrived in the host city of Cancun with the goal of hitting the practice courts in preparation for the A-list event.
Facilities not up to par for such an elite event
After arriving in Cancun, Sabalenka took to the practice courts. However, the World No.1 appeared shocked and dissatisfied at the facilities available to the athletes. A video posted by Sabalenka showed just two practice courts, which are apparently the only courts available to all participating athletes.
“2 practice courts till Saturday. 1 stringer on site,” read the caption.
With the tournament kicking off in a few days, it is unclear if the organizers will make more courts available to the players.
