America’s tennis star
Jessica Pegula has shared delight
after seeing the recent success of fellow women athletes in different sports.
The world number five, in a recent post on her official
account on the social media platform X — previously known as Twitter — expressed
delight after seeing the recent success of
Danielle Collins, Nelly Korda and
Caitlin Clark in different sports. “I feel like it’s Danielle Collins, Nelly Korda, and Caitlin
Clark’s world right now because that’s my whole timeline. What a fun time for
women’s sport,” she wrote.
Collins, who earlier announced that she will retire from
professional tennis at the end of the current season has won two back-to-back
WTA 1000 and 500 titles. She first won the
Miami Open after defeating Elena Rybakina
in straight sets with a score of 7-5, 6-3. After that, she went on to win the Charleston Open as well
after beating Russia’s Daria Kasatkina in the final with a score of 6-2, 6-1.
On the other hand, Korda had her glory moment in the world
of golf as she won the LPGA Arizona Championship. Clark is the next big
thing coming into the WNBA and she has already showcased her class in college
basketball where she has been representing lowa Hawkeyes. In the NCAA Women's Championship, the 22-year-old has been
by far the most impactful player with 31.6 points per game, the best by any
player.
