America’s tennis star Jessica Pegula was not left impressed after journalists used her wealth to disparage Grand Slam defeats.
The 29-year-old has had some amazing success on the court in the recent past but has produced similar kinds of performances while playing in major competitions where she has never managed to play in the semifinal or beyond.

Pegula has suffered six defeats in the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam, a record that she is not pleased about. Talking about it, the current world number five was recently quoted in a report where she lambasted journalists for making fun of her defeats in the last eight.
"Wimbledon, yeah, that loss was really tough,” she said. “I was so close. I just blew a 4-1 lead. So I think that loss definitely knocked me kind of down quite a bit.The journalists that write about me have no freaking clue. I can't buy my way into a semifinal. I was just like, 'What kind of clickbait trash is this?.”
Last season, Pegula played in the quarterfinal of two out of four Grand Slams but faltered on each occasion. At the Australian Open, she lost to Victoria Azarenka with a score of 6-4, 6-1.
At Wimbledon, the Buffalo-born came second-best to the Czech Republic’s Marketa Vondrousova with a score of 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.
