Comparisons with Emma Raducanu as expected and now Maria Sharapova and Anna Kournikova as her compatriots who have ascended the sport, Mirra Andreeva as expected after being heralded has the tennis world dubbing her the next 'insert player here'.
But Andreeva wants to forge her own legacy and has shunned comparisons this time with Sharapova and Kournikova for one obvious reason.
Due to the fact, she wasn't born when they played or won Grand Slam titles so can't take inspiration from them.
“Honestly, when Sharapova won Wimbledon, she was 17. I wasn’t born yet (laughs). I didn’t see this historical moment. But it’s amazing what they both have done for tennis…”
Also in terms of Raducanu, she admitted she didn't want the pressure that the tag that the Brit had after winning the US Open had.
This was while she was still in the tournament with the media seemingly dreaming of a new Raducanu story with a qualifier going all the way after being unheralded.
But she won't have to worry about that with Madison Keys accounting for her on Monday at Wimbledon who will play her Quarter-Final this afternoon.

Mirra Andreeva was asked if Maria Sharapova & Anna Kournikova are inspirations to her: “Honestly, when Sharapova won Wimbledon, she was 17. I wasn’t born yet (laughs). I didn’t see this historical moment. But it’s amazing what they both have done for tennis…”
