Quarterfinals at the 2020 ASB Classic were decided by three 2-set matches so far as Williams and Wozniacki take their spot in semifinals.

In Auckland, the day full of quarterfinal matches was kicked-off by Jessica Pegula and Alize Cornet. The American was playing in a great form at the ASB Classic and she confirmed it again. Pegula led already 6-0, 3-2 when Cornet had to give up the match.
In the second match, no.1 at the tournament, Serena Williams faced Laura Siegemund. The German previously defeated youngster Coco Gauff and she faced a new obstacle now. Serena remained perfect at ASB Classic when she added another victory to reach the semifinals. After winning 6-4, 6-3 Serena can still move to 9th place in the WTA Ranking if she wins the tournament.
Caroline Wozniacki, who spends her last weeks on the tour, was playing Julia Goerges in quarterfinals. The Danish player was successful as she is having a great form in Auckland. Wozniacki has won 6-1, 6-4 after just 76 minutes and in the semifinals, she will be facing Jessica Pegula.
There is still a chance of long-time friends Williams and Wozniacki playing in the finals together. Wozniacki will be playing against Williams in her farewell match in Copenhagen and they are also playing doubles together at ASB Classic.
