The WTA draw for the NBO Open in Toronto is out and we know which players might face each other in the quarterfinals.
These matchups largely depend on whether the seeds actually make it to this stage. Generally, we see a couple of seeds exit early and it's nothing unusual but if all of them reach the quarterfinals we will get some fascinating matchups. Iga Swiatek will return to hard courts for the first time since dominating on them a couple of months ago and she might face Garbine Muguruza.
Maria Sakkari has not played well in her return to hard courts but neither is her potential quarterfinal opponent Ons Jabeur. It's unlikely we actually get o see this one but it would be a good one. The 3rd quarterfinal would be one between two heavy hitters as Jessica Pegula might face Paula Badosa. The Spaniard is playing really well so she might be favoured in that one.
The final one would be between Aryna Sabalenka and Anett Kontaveit. Neither is playing very well but this one ensures a lot of double faults certainly.
