Coco Gauff anchored Team USA towards victory in their latest tie against Croatia as they reached the Quarter-Finals of the 2025 United Cup. She added to Taylor Fritz' earlier win over Borna Coric with a 6-2, 6-3 win for her compatriot. But she got real on New Year's Resolutions after beating Donna Vekic.

Gauff saw off Vekic 6-4, 6-2 in a successful end to 2024 for the American who was asked about her New Year's Resolutions only to say simply that she doesn't make them anymore as they only work for a few weeks and she doesn't stick to them.

After that relatable view point, she said that she merely wants to get better from the year before. Well she could seal back-to-back titles. After winning the WTA Finals, she has anchored USA towards the latter stages of the United Cup to end the year and start the next.

She is making her debut in the event and after spending recent years solely playing ASB Classic in Auckland where she was two-time back-to-back champion, she will look to make a new memory to begin 2025.

At times she will want to leave her 2024 behind with results not going her way for part of the season but since teaming up with new coach, Matt Daly, it has only been up for the former US Open champion. "I kind of stopped doing New Year’s resolutions because it works for like two weeks and then I don’t keep up with it. I don’t know. There are no resolutions. I think just do better than I did the year before,"Gauff said.

But while she leaves the resolutions behind, Gauff said that she is very much going to keep one of her hobbies into 2025 as a way to bring in the New Year. "Plans tonight? I don’t know. Maybe escape room & fireworks."
