Caroline Wozniacki continues on her journey to defend the title at the China Open in Beijing after defeating Siniakova.
The former world number one was the favorite to advance, when she led already 3-1 in H2H matches against the Czech player. The players met in the quarterfinals in Beijing a year ago when Wozniacki managed to outplay Siniakova easily 6-2 and 6-2.
Now it was the former doubles number one, who broke her opponent's serve first and got a chance to win the first set. But she did not succeed in doing so and Wozniacki took the advantage of a set by winning it 7-5.
In the second set, it was more about Wozniacki, who was leading already 4-1. But later she struggled with converting match balls on her serve when she needed 5 of them to win the match.
Wozniacki will meet the winner of the match between Alexandrova in Kasatkina in the next round. Both are playing in a solid form, when
