WTA Abierto Mexicano Telcel in Acapulco - Day 1 Schedule of Play

This time we take a look at the WTA Schedule of Play with the likes of Heather Watson, Yafan Wang and Nao Hibino all in action.

Watson is slowly rising again with a second round at the Australian Open and before that a semi-final at the Hobart International; which on reflection was good due to the current form of Elena Rybakina; she will take on Coco Vandeweghe on the first match on Estadio on Day 1.

Vandeweghe has been playing in Oracle Challenger events since losing to Laura Siegemund at the Australian Open and reached the final losing to Taylor Townsend and while this isn't a great barometer for form, she could be on her way back.

Yafan Wang claimed the title last year and will be back to attempt to defend it. Her first test will be compatriot Wang Xiyu.

Other matches include Arantxa Rus and Nao Hibino facing off, the latter comes off brilliant form at the Thailand Open in Hua Hin where she reached the Quarter-Finals.

Also third seed Marie Bouzkova will take on Tatjana Maria with the other games being Anastasia Potapova against Anna Schmiedlova and Tamara Zidansek against Anna Kalinskaya.
