The Zayed Sports City's International Tennis Centre in Abu Dhabi hosts the first WTA 500 event of the season, with 12 first-round encounters reserved for the Wednesday program.
On the Centre court, Daria Kasatkina plays against Qian Wang, followed by Veronika Kudermetova and Anett Kontaveit. In another exciting clash, the young Russian Anastasia Potapova challenges Maria Sakkari before Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Ons Jabeur take the court.
Donna Vekic plays against Bernarda Pera, with Ekaterina Alexandrova and Zarina Diyas closing the Centre court action. On Court 1, Despina Papamichail, Zhaoxuan Yang, Lucrezia Stefanini and Irina Fetecau take the qualifying battles, followed by Yulia Putintseva, Ajla Tomljanovic, Anastasija Sevastova, Paula Badosa and the young Canadian Leylah Fernandez.
Laura Siegemund and Kirsten Flipkens play on Court 2, with the winner facing Sofia Kenin in the second round. Cori Gauff and Jessica Pegula challenge Garbine Muguruza and Jennifer Brady.
The Abu Dhabi champion will receive 470 WTA points.
