The 7th day of the WTA Finals brings us the semifinals of the event that will determine which two players will face each other in the final.
The two matches are two very interesting ones that will feature players that played last night which might impact their fitness a little bit considering their opponents had one day extra rest. Whether it makes a difference or not remains to be seen but the first match will start at 21:00 CET with the 2nd a bit earlier than before at 00:00 CET.
In the first one, we will have an all-Spanish clash between Badosa and Muguruza. They created a lot of controversy in their native Spain when they announced their pullout of the Billie Jean King Cup Finals but as evidence suggests it was a wise decision. They are in the semifinals with a chance at the final. They played well and the conditions suit them well. They never played before so this should be good.
The 2nd match is another one that will prove very exciting to watch. The freshly defeated Anett Kontaveit will try to shake off that defeat against Maria Sakkari. It's a huge chance for both of these players that nobody saw at the WTA Finals before the year started. Who will prove more consistent in this one remains to be seen but Kontaveit has looked extremely good before her defeat.
They played plenty of times before (11) with Sakkari leading 6-5. Four of those 11 came this year and it's 2-2. The most recent one in Ostrava was won by Kontaveit comfortably. The Olympic Games match was won by Sakkari and the conditions are quite similar to those here. Whether the Greek can do it again, remains to be seen but either way don't miss it.

WTA Finals Day 7 Schedule of Play:

00:00 Kontaveit A. (Est) - Sakkari M. (Gre)
