WTA Race Ranking Update: Barty leads the Race to Shenzhen, Halep and Andreescu qualified

Ashleigh Barty, Karolina Pliskova, Simona Halep and Bianca Andreescu are the players we will definitely see at the WTA Finals in Shenzhen, which will take place from October 28 to November 3.

Other players fight for a place among the first 8 to qualify for the tournament. Closest to this are Naomi Osaka and Petra Kvitova, who would both qualify if they won at the Beijing tournament.

Winning the China Open would guarantee a seat also to Elina Svitolina, who loses only 400 points to duo Kvitova and Osaka. Serena Williams is also among the players close to qualifying and we will probably see her fighting for her spot at some of the upcoming tournaments.

Aryna Sabalenka moved by 7 places, after the Wuhan Open, now she sits on the 12th position. Interesting names that can still fight for the top 8 of the 2019 season are Belinda Bencic, Kiki Bertens and Sofia Kenin.
