WTA Rankings Update after China Open: Coco Gauff returns to World No.4 as Muchova, Andreeva and Badosa rise

The WTA Rankings have been updated after the China Open with Coco Gauff's triumph in Beijing pushing her back into the top four of this week's WTA Rankings.

She beat Karolina Muchova in some style 6-1, 6-3 in the final on Sunday (October 6) to seal her second WTA 1000 title and her second of the year. She rose in the WTA Race and also she went up two spots in the main rankings. She could overtake Jessica Pegula and become American No.1 again in short order with a deep run in Wuhan.

Aryna Sabalenka missed the chance to shut the door on Iga Swiatek and head towards World No.1. Losing to Muchova in Beijing means that she spurned the chance to eat into a 1,000 point gap.

Elena Rybakina and Jasmine Paolini fell as a result of ranking rises around them. While Mirra Andreeva can rejoice and get a dog after reaching the top 20 for the first time in a milestone for the teenager.

Karolina Muchova's run to the final helped her climb 19 spots to the top 30. While Paula Badosa has lept back into the top 15. Anna Kalinskaya and Donna Vekic's career best seasons continue too as they move into World No.13 and 18 as a result and attain new career highs. Naomi Osaka surged 15 spots in the latest rankings too up to World No.58. As Ajla Tomljanovic reached the top 100 again after winning the Hong Kong 125.
