Venus
Williams responded on Instagram with the best advice she has received,
including one from her sister
Serena Williams.
The 7-time
Grand Slam champion continues to fight to stay on the WTA tour, despite being
sidelined for some time due to an injury. In 2023, she began her 30th season as
a professional and made her debut on January 2nd at the ASB Classic, securing a
victory over Katie Volynets, showing that she still possesses her competitive
spirit. However, she was defeated in the round of 16 by Zhu Lin.
The
42-year-old athlete often engages with fans on her social media platforms. This
time, she was asked about the best advice she has received, with three quotes,
one from her mother and the others from her older sisters, Lyndrea and Serena
Williams.
"If it’s
too good to be true, it probably is.' That was my mom. 'You have to show up, so
why not compete?' That was Serena. And from Lyn, 'Update, don’t be late,”
Williams wrote.
She also
was asked about why she was so “shady”:
“I don’t
know. Honestly, I blame Isha and Lyn for this. They’re the older sisters to
Serena and should’ve stopped this from happening. And now all of us are dealing
with the aftermath,” Venus added.
