You made us PROUD, @FTiafoe and you WILL win the @usopen one day…👏👏👏👍👍👍
Frances Tiafoe impressed many with his incredible level and brave play at the US Open reaching the semi-finals.
The American fell to Spanish superstar Carlos Alcaraz in five sets but he made a whole nation very proud. Many Americans rallied behind him after his superb play as he became the first African-American in the semi-finals of the US Open since tennis legend Arthur Ashe.
After the match, Tiafoe apologized for letting his people down but the outpouring of support was even larger after those comments. Many colleagues backed him to repeat this success and even go further with Chris Evert writing on Twitter:
"You made us PROUD, @FTiafoe and you WILL win the @usopen one day…"
She alluded to Tiafoe saying that he's going to win this event one day which is quite possible. More shocking things have happened in tennis.
