"You won me $55,000 for winning this match" - Andreescu remembers funny situation with fan

Bianca Andreescu revealed a funny interaction with a fan at the US Open during a Q and A session at the San Diego Open.

Bianca Andreescu is one of the players in the main draw of the San Diego Open that starts October 10th. As part of her pre-event schedule, she took part in a Q and A session where she remembered a funny interaction with a fan at the 2019 US Open.

The 2019 event was the one she won by beating Serena Williams in the final and one fan was very grateful for that:

"Well, the first one that pops into my head is when I won the US Open, I was giving autographs at the end of the match and there was one guy that said, 'You won me $55,000 for winning this match'. And I was like okay. I thought it was pretty funny."

Andreescu did not play since this year's US Open and this event will be her first one since taking that break.
