The Australian Open starts on February 8, gathering all the world's leading players besides Roger Federer in the clash for 2000 ATP points and a Major glory.
Novak Djokovic, Milos Raonic, Gael Monfils and Alexander Zverev are the notable names in the top quarter, with Djokovic seeking the ninth Australian Open crown and the 18th Major in total. The last year's finalist Dominic Thiem, Diego Schwartzman, Denis Shapovalov, Pablo Carreno Busta and Grigor Dimitrov are in the second quarter, hoping to reach the semis and challenge Novak in the battle for the final.

- I heartily disagree with Stubbs here. I mean c'mon! The whole idea of giving out wildcards is to give new & up-coming players a chance at getting as much circuit match-practice under their belts as possible. And this is a HUGE must and opportunity for these new kids on the block. Why curtail opportunities for these newbies in favour of stalwart monopoly?? That just isn't fair. At least give these lesser known players a chance to become more familiar at playing in bigger tournaments & give them also a chance of getting the crowds behind these underdogs.
