2021 Barcelona Open Entry List with Nadal, Tsitsipas, Schwartzman

The 68th edition of the prestigious Trofeo Conde de Godo in Barcelona occurs between April 19-25, standing as the fifth-strongest ATP tournament on clay, with 14 of the world's 25 best players chasing the title.

Placed at the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona, the oldest Spanish tennis club, the first edition was held in 1953. In 1970, Barcelona became a part of the ATP calendar (best-of-five finals until 2006), and Manuel Santana was the first winner in the Open era. Ilie Nastase, Bjorn Borg, Manuel Orantes, Ivan Lendl, Mats Wilander, Carlos Costa, Thomas Muster, Marat Safin, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Carlos Moya and Kei Nishikori are among the notable champions.

Still, Rafael Nadal stands above them all, with 11 Barcelona titles since 2005, suffering only four losses at one of his favorite events and proudly playing on the court that carries his name!

Nadal will compete in Barcelona for the 16th time, chasing the first titles since 2018 after losing in the semis to Dominic Thiem two years ago. The 2018 finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas is the 2nd seed, ahead of the Roland Garros semi-finalist Diego Schwartzman and Denis Shapovalov.

Roberto Bautista Agut, David Goffin, Pablo Carreno Busta, Grigor Dimitrov, Fabio Fognini, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Cristian Garin are the remaining top-20 players ready to chase the Barcelona title, all dreaming about beating Nadal and stealing the title from him.
