BNP Paribas Open confirms that prize money for rescheduled 2021 event in October will be full, regular prize money for men & women
The Indian Wells Masters was last held in 2019 getting cancelled twice after that but it will happen in 2021 after all.
The BNP Paribas Masters in Indian Wells will go ahead in 2021 after being initially cancelled in March. The event will be held in October with a date to be announced later on. It will be the first time the event is going to be held since 2019.
The announcement was made by tournament director Tommy Haas:
“We are ecstatic to have the opportunity to hold the BNP Paribas Open in October and bring professional tennis back to the desert. We have never wavered in our desire to create an unforgettable experience this fall in Tennis Paradise for our fans, players and sponsors.”
The event is the first event in a while to be held with full prize money instead of the reduced prize pool we have seen during the pandemic. It will be welcoming news for players who will certainly flock to attended in great numbers.
