Stefanos Tsitsipas is through to another semifinal as he defeated Yoshihito Nishioka to advance at the Lyon Open.
The top seed remaining in the event is through to the semifinal after defeating Yoshihito Nishioka 6-3 6-4. The great player wasted no time in his quarterfinal matchup racing past Nishioka who was overmatched from the start. Tsitsipas served very well at the start of the match not allowing Nishioka much.
The Japanese player was able to hold one initially fending off several attempts by Tstisipas but in the end, the Greek found a way. He wrapped up the first set with 6-3 behind his stellar play on serve that lost him only 3 points in total. The 2nd set featured similar play from both players.
Both served well hitting over 70 % of their first serves which allowed them to convert a high percentage of those points. Nishioka struggled on his 2nd serve as he allowed Tsitsipas to attack him with his forehand. Tsitsipas got the break he needed and after that calmly served the match out.
Another great result for Tsitispsa who will be happy to wrap this one up quickly (66 minutes) and move at an even he will aim to win considering the field that is left.
