The comeback player of the year is reserved for the player who experienced a return to glory following something that derailed their career. For most, it's some kind of injury with the players named in the nominee's list all suffering injuries in the past.
The players nominated include Andreas Mies, Borna Coric, Dominic Thiem, Edouard Roger-Vasselin, Stan Wawrinka and Yibing Wu. The comebacks of Thiem Coric and Wawrinka are well known with the one of Coric sticking out due to the high level he has played in the final weeks of the season.
