It also reflects Saudi Arabia's expanding involvement and investment in sports, particularly tennis, where there is currently no ATP tournament.
Kosmos wanted to bring the Davis Cup Finals to the region and it was heavily opposed by a lot of players and coaches. This move is an interesting one as it goes against the way it has been organized so far but a rather natural one after the country hosted the Diriyah Tennis Cup in the off-season.
It seems like we will be seeing more and more tennis events in the Gulf.
