Jannik Sinner claimed the victory in the
Six Kings Slam final against
Carlos Alcaraz with a score of 6-2, 6-4, and the multi-million dollar prize of $6 million as the tournament champion. The Italian—just like in 2024—managed to overcome his greatest rival, securing a small measure of revenge (albeit in an exhibition) for his last two final defeats against Alcaraz.
The rivalry between Alcaraz and Sinner took a new chapter, this time in the final of the multi-million dollar Six Kings Slam exhibition tournament. Alcaraz overcame his debut match against Fritz, while Sinner swept his way through the draw with victories over Stefanos Tsitsipas and Novak Djokovic, setting up a clash for the second consecutive year in the Riyadh final.
Although it was not an official match, there were high expectations surrounding the contest, following a year in which they had five encounters—all in finals. In fact, Alcaraz has taken seven of their last eight official meetings, so there was certainly extra motivation for Sinner to return the favor to the World No. 1.
It was a nearly perfect match from Sinner, who won 82% of his service points compared to only 57% for Alcaraz. The Italian secured three breaks from 10 opportunities, while not conceding a single break chance to his rival.
The match quickly tilted in Sinner's favor. He achieved an early break and remained focused in the first part of the set to capitalize on his opportunities, comfortably leading 5-1. With impeccable serving, the 4-time Grand Slam champion closed the first set 6-2.
In the second set, things leveled out, with Alcaraz starting to win his service games with more confidence, but Sinner quickly began to create break chances. In the 5th game, Alcaraz saved five break points, but two games later, the decisive break would go to Sinner. The Italian held on to his serve until the end and took the victory 6-2, 6-4, marking a notable return to the courts after the injury he suffered at the Shanghai Masters last week, which ultimately knocked him out of the fight for the year-end World No. 1 spot.
Sinner will quickly return to the courts at the Vienna Open—which starts this Monday—in what will be a preparatory tournament for the upcoming Paris Masters, the last Master 1000 of the year and the site of Alcaraz's return to the tour. Both players will then prepare to compete in the ATP Finals during the third week of November.
