The
Winston-Salem Open will happen later today to give players a better chance to prepare for the US Open that starts on Monday.
Adrian Mannarino is the first finalist as he smashed Botic van de Zandschulp in a match that proved far easier for him than many expected. Many even thought the Dutch player would have the upper hand comfortably but that was not the case.
Mannarino took the first set 6-0 as van de Zandschulp sprayed error after error. He did not serve well either which only contributed to the problems. The 2nd set was far more competitive as there was better serving from Botic but he still lost it 4-6. Mannarino did not face a single break point in this amazing performance.
He will face
Laslo Djere who bested Huesler in straight sets. It's the first final on hard courts for Djere and it's going to be a tough one. The Serbian was finally able to win a match in straight sets this week but it was equally exhausting.
Djere saved a couple of set points in the first set to win it 7-3 in the tiebreak. The 2nd one was better for him as he opened with a 3-0 lead but lost it later on. He squandered 7 match points in total during the set but rallied in the tiebreak using his 9th match point to close it out.
