American tennis player
Christopher Eubanks may have ruffled the feathers of several fans after implying compatriot
Ben Shelton would pose a threat to World No.1
Carlos Alcaraz.
Eubanks and Shelton were seen conversing in a video on social media, with the latter stating he would like to be a player whom other stars do not want to face in a tournament.
Alcaraz would be wary of facing Shelton, according to Eubanks
"I want to be that dude in the draw that there's not one player who wants to see me," said Shelton. "I'm not talking just doesn't [want to see my name], I'm talking scared of me."
"All right, next," replied Eubanks. "Who wants to see you right now? Who wants to see you right now? Carlos Alcaraz does not want to see your name next to his. I can promise you that."
Some tennis fans took offense to Eubank's words, with one labeling the American as 'delusional'.
"You need a friend who is more delusional about you than you!" a tweet read.
"How me and my besties feed each others delusions," another fan expressed.
"Hyping up your friends is great but it should probably be kept within the realm of reality lmao," said another user.
