Tennis star
Alex De Minaur is of the opinion that the sport will be more unpredictable following the retirement of the Big Three of
Roger Federer,
Rafael Nadal and
Novak Djokovic.
De Minaur, who is currently competing at the
Atlanta Open, gave his thoughts during a press conference where he elaborated on the idea of tennis without the Big Three.
Players are more likely to step up, according to De Minaur
"Without the Big Three I expect a very open phase of tennis, personally I find it more exciting," said the Australian. "I'd like to be among those tennis players who manage to take the next step within the circuit."
De Minaur also spoke on his development and personal goals for the future.
"I want to continue working on myself, this is my floor," he added. "I want to go all the way in the big tournaments, be continuously in the second week. Switching from grass to hard-courts? I don't think it's the most difficult change, during the year we live worse and after Wimbledon I allowed myself some free time. I had to reset both physically and mentally."
