Arthur Fils to reach the Quarter-Finals of
Wimbledon but it could yet be disaster for the Aussie ace as he won through 6-2, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 but in the end, he got injured on match point.
De Minaur who was watched on by his girlfriend Katie Boulter was struck by a bit of a curse of the show court with Anna Kalinskaya and Madison Keys both getting injured in the past day with the former being just an hour before in retiring against Elena Rybakina.
But De Minaur did it in winning as he scooped low to convert the winning match point near the net. He stood still on the court and limped towards the net before heading back to his chair in some discomfort. The Aussie ace who was watched on by Katie Boulter, his girlfriend could face Novak Djokovic on Wednesday but in reality it could yet be a race for fitness.
"I definitely made it a lot harder than I should have," he said. "I'm happy to get through, great job mentally to get through it, even though I couldn't serve at the end.
"I couldn't hold my serve, I just backed my return and I'm very happy with that. It's just onto the next."
He didn't pick who he wanted to face next up. "I'm just excited to be in the quarter-finals and have another battle, give myself a shot. One thing you can definitely count on is me going out there trying my hardest and giving it my best."
