Alexander Zverev survives against Emil Ruusuvuori in Indian Wells

Alexander Zverev was not far from defeat in this tough matchup against Ruusuvuori as the Finnish player had break points in the final set but didn't use them.

Zverev played a pretty solid match but he expect heavy resistance from Ruusuvuori. Emil won their only matchup so far in Miami a few years ago this match was a similar one. Once again we saw three sets but it was Zverev who won the opening set despite Ruusuvuori being one break up early.

It was a really close first set as Both had 3 aces with Zverev having 9 winners and Ruusuvuori having 10 winners. The seconds et saw Ruusuvuori take over with his crazy shotmaking smashing Zverev 6-1. The Finnish player has those crazy moments where he starts hitting incredible shots and there is very little you can do.

That was the second set and that momentum carried over in the 3rd set a bit. He had break points to completely take over the match but Zverev was able to hang on. Eventually, he'd get a few chances of his own and he got it done to take the final set 7-5. A pretty composed match from Zverev in the end.
