Former world number one
Andre Agassi reminisced on
Davis Cup
triumph in 1992 alongside
John McEnroe,
Pete Sampras, & Jim Courier.
The 53-year-old is renowned, not only for his tennis skills
but also for his fashion sense. Agassi, in a post on his official account on the social media platform Instagram account, recalled the historic triumph in 1992 as he was part of a mega-star American team.
The side defeated Switzerland in the final with a
score of 3-1. In that tie, Team USA won two singles and a doubles tie. Agassi
defeated Jakob Hlasek in straight sets with a score of 6-1, 6-2, 6-2.
In the other singles tie, Jim Courier defeated Hlasek with a
score of 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. In the doubles tie, John McEnroe and Pete Sampras
defeated Hlasek and Marc Rosset with a score of 6-7, 6-7, 7-5, 6-1, 6-2.
Agassi ended his career with eight Grand Slam titles.
Despite winning less than 10 major titles, the former world number one managed
to complete the Career Grand Slam after winning all four major tournaments at least
once in his career.
His most successful competition was the Australian Open where
he ended up lifting the title four times — in 1995, 2000, 2001 and 2003.
