Former World No.1 Andy Murray may have bid goodbye to the tennis world, but the British star recently revealed his intentions to open a new restaurant at his luxury five-star hotel, Cromlix.
The three-time Grand Slam champion played his final professional tennis tournament at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris this summer. Murray teamed with compatriot Dan Evans in the men's doubles event, falling to the American team of Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul.
The double Wimbledon champion wants to build a new 80 cover restaurant which would replace the current eatery known as The Glasshouse. Although the new restaurant would form an extension to the C-listed Victorian mansion with views over the hotel's lawns through huge glass windows along a new terraced area, the Glasshouse would still be retained under the move and be turned into a space for afternoon teas and private events.
Additionally, Murray would also add three new ground floor bedrooms to the hotel within the main building. Plans have been submitted to the Stirling Council and if approved, would see the number of rooms available to guests at Cromlix increase from 15 to 19. The council will issue a decision on the new plans in due course.
