Andy Murray returned to the singles court after 210 days and faced Richard Gasquet in the 1st round match of Western & Southern Open as he lost 6-4, 6-4

Murray started the match with a double fault which was not ideal at all and so he lost his first service. Although in the first set of the Western & Southern Open 1st round match he managed to get level in the fourth game, later he lost his serve again and lost the first set 6-4.
The second set did not start ideally for the former no. 1 again. He lost his first serve again and the Frenchman had a big advantage in the match now.
Murray managed to get 2 breakballs in this set, but he didn't convert any. Gasquet kept his serve until the end of the second set and won it also 6-4.
Despite the support of the entire tennis world, Murray did not win his first singles match and will continue only in the doubles draw. He and Feliciano Lopez will face the fourth seeded pair Rojer and Tecau.
Although first match did not go for Andy as expected, hopefully we will see him soon in the singles again, ideally at the upcoming US Open.
