After playing really well for much of this year
Andy Murray finally produced a bad outing and it comes against
Dusan Lajovic in the
Miami Open as the Serb won 6-4 7-5.
Murray didn't play a good match and he certainly didn't play as well as he played at times this year. He was quite up and down with a few good moments and then a few poor ones. It's a match he largely could have and should have won but he simply didn't play as well as he needed to. The start was good as he won games comfortably, but after missing out on some break points, Murray struggled.
He allowed Lajovic to play himself into a good rhythm and it never really stopped. The serve was working for the Serbian, allowing him to be quite aggressive in the match. He had 21 winners, more than Murray and he even had fewer errors than Murray. The combination of those two factors proved vital.
Murray had a bit of a chance when he broke back in the second set when Lajovic served for the match but he wasted a 40-15 advantage in the game to give him another chance and this time around Lajovic converted. Just a very poor match overall, not much more than that.
