Andy Murray is back on the grass and it was a winning return for the former world number one as he defeated Paire 6-3 6-2.
The return of Andy Murray to Queen's Club was as he wanted it to be as he emerged victorious from his clash with Benoit Paire. The former world number one played some great tennis against an engaged Paire and defeated him in straight sets. The start of the set was great from Andy who served well which allowed him to win most of his 1st service points.
He won 79 % of those en route to the 6-3 finish not allowing a single break point. He also hit 3 aces which was good to see. The 2nd set was a bit tougher for Andy as he did not serve as well as in the first. Paire also read his serve better but Andy was still better in the rallies.
Midway through the 2nd set he finally broke Paire again taking the 3-2 lead which became a 4-2 lead one game after that. Another battle ensued in the next game which was another Paire service game. Murray fought back into the game and broke Paire to take a 5-2 lead.
He then served it out ending the match with 6-2. It was a very enjoyable moment for Murray who celebrated the victory with the British fans in attendance.
