Andy Murray sold his old house in Surrey for 5 million pounds making a profit on the house while moving to another property bought in 2016.
The Brit lived in the house for a couple of years but moved to a new property which he bought back in 2016. The house went on sale last year and now he completed the sale fetching him 5 million pounds. The reason for the move is cutting travel time as he explained to Surrey Live:
“At one point, I was travelling 40 weeks a year to tournaments so being closer to both Heathrow and Gatwick helped cut down on a little bit of my travel time. It’s also easy to get to Wimbledon and the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton from here, which is where I train.”
After playing in Newport recently, Murray will play in Ohio next at the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati. Speaking of that event, Murray said:
“I’ve always been a massive fan of this tournament. I’ve won it twice, and its always nice coming back to the heat of Cincinnati. Because it’s the final Masters 1000 before the US Open it acts as a great warm up tournament, so hopefully I can be playing my best tennis by the time I get to Flushing Meadows.”
